You'd have thought that by now the Brailsford philosophy would have seeped into British Cycling, as well as the apparatus of State that supports cycling and other sports not favoured with lots of cash like wendyball.

This has been a long time coming. I wonder how much hands on involvement he's had with BC lately anyway.

Good news is it looks like Shane Sutton will just step up.

Any organisation would miss his expertise but I'm sure that thanks to DB, there is a hell of a lot more now to BC than him alone.

Press release on the BC website now. The press picked it up fast, on TV sport reports this morning early on. Looks like a Shane Sutton led operation on the coaching side, which I suspect has been the case for a long time anyway.

Amazing that after all that success on the track he starts a road team in his spare time and almost immediately lands two successive Tour wins. That's some talent !
