Dawes Clubman

Chuffed to little buttons. I've been suffering from back problems for some time resulting in spinal surgery three months ago. I bought a Galaxy Cross flat barred bike last March, thinking that the upright position would be better for my back. of course the opposite is the case. Got it for a good price, £450 but never rode it. So went back to LBS where I bought it and part exchanged it for a Dawes Clubman Audax, lovely bike, half the weight of the Cross

Falmouth Cycles, here in Falmouth, Cornwall, run by a gentle giant, 6'8" Derek Heelis, nice bloke, used to run Tavistock Cycles in Devon. Yes the frame is Reynolds 520 with a carbon fork

Sounds great,
Hope you do many miles on the Dawes,
I always have a soft spot for Dawes,
Owned many,
My favorite was a giro 500 with 16 speed campag in lime green,
Regret selling it,
Now I have a audax supreme, with a Reynolds 631 frame, nearly my best bike.

I had a Dawes Ranger from the mid 80s, Reynolds 531, lovely old bike, lent it to a friend and it got stolen. I also have a Tricross and a Secteur Elite so spoilt for choice. Supreme looks like a nice bike

I was talking to my LBS about the clubman just the other day, he said Dawes can't compete with Ribble, as they do Reynolds 520 fame with carbon fork, any spec.
I know which I would buy, if I was in the market.
All the best.
