BRILLIANT, he all of a sudden remembers if you drip Triffid poison into your eyes through an African Mask they leave you alone and everyone lives happily ever after on the Isle of White!

I have wasted 3 hours of my life and the mrs is ripping my taste in TV selection now. Eddie Izzard was a let down after a humerous start yesterday.

Pure BBC Cheddar, rivalling Dr Who on the Cheesiness scale!!

I'm fielding lots of awkward questions from the kids as to why that worked: Anyone?

THe problem for me with many of these is the "presentation". This was billed as "Day of the Triffids". but apart from the fact it had plants there is little similarity to the original.

The same happened with the Prisoner. It should be billed as what it is a new film based on the idea of the original.

...used the original ending, from the book (more or less). At least it beats hosing 'em down with seawater...

I'll probably have to watch through the whole thing a second time, to take it all in. The plants themselves were rather on the aspidistra side, with a bit of canna lily thrown in to boot, but maybe that's all to the good. How else do you make a plant look sinister?

The Chrysalids would make a pretty neat Hollywood fantasy movie: I don't know whether the film rights have been scooped up by any of the big companies? They could make a real meal of the farmyard and forest mutations. But I think they might want to re-consider the ending, as I said earlier: too Monty Pythonish to fit in with the rest of the plot.

I thought it was horrendous. Not very gripping, wooden acting and camera action all too reminiscent of 28 Days Later. Hmph.
