There are too many cyclists riding with no lights at night (IMHO).
How do we deal with them?
Some people say confiscate their bikes on the spot. The problem with this idea is many of those with no lights are little scripted who would just go out and steal another bike...So I propose anyone riding a bike without lights is shot on the spot. This would prevent the risk of them going on to steal a bike. It would also prevent them riding without lights.
If this scheme proves successful, then I would propose to extend it to motorists driving without lights, with badly adjusted headlights or a bulb out.
Now, I can hear you all objecting saying the police are too overworked to enforce these laws. That may be true, so I would arm cyclists to enable them to assist the police with this task.
Crime reduced, no increase in prison population, no need for legal aid or expensive trials and appeals etc.
What's not to love about this plan?
PS I may not be 100% serious
