Indeed, live out in the countryside don't be expecting the best from most networks especially indoor coverage.... Unlike what some hair products say your not worth it

Agree there - my issue with Vodafone is that their coverage locally appears to have remained unchanged in the last few years while others have made progress. If 3's coverage map is to be believed (and I found the other day that someone with 3 could get 3G in our house) there is 3G across the area.

This is Vodafone's map - Suffolk is hardly reknowned for hills and difficult coverage areas yet look at all the gaps in 2G and the pitiful 3G coverage. 3's map has indoor/outdoor 3G coverage for that whole area, as has Orange/EE. The coast is no better - I had to wander round Leiston town centre the other day to find a voice signal, let alone data.

We might moan about mobiles, but the other year I left mine at home and had to use a phonebox. Jesus H Whatshisname, during a call lasting a couple of minutes I was feeding the coins in so fast I could barely keep up with the thing. At least no one uses them now so there is never a queue and they don't stink of pi$$.

I'm off up north soon and preparing to leave my main phone and ipad at home. At my dad's house, I can't make a phone call indoors let alone receive email. And it's the same at my second favourite pub up there, want a taxi and you have to walk to the bottom of the car park (and this is the Pennines so it's raining) to get a signal.

However, every cloud has a silver lining and so when I leave work saying "Sorry but I'm not contactable" and they say "Ok we'll only call you if it's urgent" I get to say "No really. I'm not contactable."
It's a lot better now you know, we got electrickery in our house last year.

3G on Voda in London is dire now they are pushing the 4G . we struggle to keep a data connection .

N Wales where family are from is strange as there is a huge difference between the end of the 200m road. at the east you can only get an o2 signal , in the west only voda. Orange/EE is only available from the roof top at either end ( do not ask how I know this ;) )

in London where I live EE is a non starter

It's not always Vodaphone* but Norfolk has been a black hole for signal since I started working for another network, which I'll call Tangerine, in 1997. Apparently it's difficult to get enough masts to cover the area??????? Given I can get coverage in the middle of the North Yorks Moors I don't understand this!

* Yes I know but I can spell telephone!

I know. And I need the electric. My phone spends so much battery looking for a signal I may as well leave it plugged in
