Not that I'm tempted of course , BUT....... does anyone have any experiences or opinions, good or bad, regarding the Decathlon Rockrider 8.1 ?

Had a look at one today in the Glasgow branch of Decathlon and have to say that it looks a good bit of kit for the money. £499 for Avid Juicy disc brakes; Sram X7 derailleur, Michelin tyres, lightweight aluminium frame, RockShox Tora forks with lockout........

Has to be a catch, or is it just cheaper because it doesn't say Trek/Specialized/Scott etc. on the frame (and it's BROWN, yeuch) ?

I've got a 5.1, much cheaper components but the bikes are well put together and I've had no issues with it.

Review of the 8.1 here

I've a Deca roadie, it's a good bike. It was at least until a Toyota driver failed to see it (and me). I'm getting better, the bike still needs repair but should be more straightforward than my recovery.
