December ride for food

Jay, when it's warmer you'll have to join us on a sunday london ride, we'll show you the sights (the palace, the guards) we'll even get the teas in

I'd love to do a sights of London ride, put me down for this next time it happens

One thing worrying me is the distance. My longest ride is 102 miles and after I did feel like I could of carried on. Is a jump from 102 to 140 odd miles to much?

You will be fine. You'll be among some good strong riders so the miles will fly by.
The route is also flat as a pancake. (apart from Bread & Cheese Hill, and that's not too bad)

Nah seriously you'll be fine jay. Southend is a nice gentle ride. The hardest bit of your ride will be the climb at Elstree (if that's the way you're coming down).

Edit: Couldn't see the route from my phone but you're not even going over Elstree, so flat, flat, flat!!

There is construction/road closed just before Hadleigh and the roundabout there has changed, you'll have to be very careful here (should be alright on the way down) as it is a fast road and on the way back will be jammed.

That bit will be muddy from the consruction site

the weather keeps changing, we'll be into the wind on the way back

if the weather is decent, Susie and I will be pootling to Southend and taking the train back. We'll be going via Romford, Brentwood (stopping for coffee), Stock and the Hanningfields. We should get there about 12 or so, so you might bump in to us at the Rose if you're going there.
