The bike has been fine for me the last two days but it -4 deg just now and its forecast -3deg with Fog in the morning. I don't mind the cold but I may give the fog the miss.

Minus 4, minus 3 in Coventry tonight.

Fog patches forecast for the morning, should make the commute fun.
I was out in the shed on the turbo earlier, pounding the pedals round whilst watching the heart monitor in the light of my headtorch with a head full of Black Sabath, I was surrounded by steam and sweating buckets, but my feet were like blocks of ice.

Peterborough has too many rondabouts to make things fun with 23mm tyres (its only one rbt and I've cycled further in worse but I'm trying to talk my self out of it )
I was on the rollers tonight but in the flat according to the thermometer its already -4 deg here.

-4 -5 and misty this morning, I'm on 700cx28's on the fixed, I'm looking forward to the commute, its only the roads at each end that tend to be iffy, the rest is on main roads.

I don't commute, I mostly work from home. But my neighbour, a school teacher does a 16 mile commute every day and has done for 28 years, all weathers. I see him most mornings load his bike, which is currently a Marin, with his bag on the rear rack, then off he goes. He doesn't wear cycle gear, just his work clothes, casual trousers, shirt, tie and jacket and normal sensible shoes. No helmet. This morning in the freezing fog and icy roads he has put on extra layers of waterproof trousers and a kagool. He does not own a car. He's well hard.

You've probably guessed but I ended up cycling in on the 23mm's, the met says it was -3.9deg but it didn't feel that cold and the main roads were fine and oddly it was fun, still the PM to come though!

Very cold tonight but the roads were clear, just the odd iced up puddle to watch for.

The met said it was -6deg tonight only rising to -3.8deg at 3pm but it didn't feel that cold but I kept to main roads and my short commute is too short to get cold when you are dressed up like a polar bear

That's good though. The reason you get ahead of target is so you've got a bit of a cushion if you have an unexpected spell off the bike due to weather / illness / injury...etc
