I often click on the photo albums and it's sad that often, it's from a "deleted member".

Some nice photos, but is it right to display photos of deleted members? They have decided to ride off, but did they want to leave behind all the memories contained in those photos.

I have never seen one come back to complain.

If I leave, you are quite welcome to use mine.

T&Cs cannot override the principles of GDPR, in this case the "right to be forgotten". Posts made under your forum name would likely not be PII, but a photo of you could be. In the case of personally identifiable photos being posted on the forum software the only valid legal basis for processing is consent of the subject.

A few years ago a long standing member whose name we are not allowed to mention made a long and hilarious post on why we were no longer worthy of his presence and threatened legal action unless all his posts were deleted, which they were. It was a legendary flounce.

I'd heard that more redently they'd talked themselves into a spot of legal bother and came off on the losing end in court. Can't vouch for the veracity of that info, but that's the word going round,
