Deliberate or not?

My new camera is showing its worth at night. Here is my first video of interest at night. (Remember to select the high quality option!)

So what do you think? Did this taxi driver accidentally drift toward me, or was it deliberate? he had plenty of space to his left, and towards the end of the clip you can see him move over as he approaches the junction.

I didn't want to move any further to the left myself as there are cobbles at the side of the road.

Looked pretty deliberate to me. Another muppet on the roads.

Did you have any lights on ? My money would be that he was on his phone

Phone is a possibility. So do we have any image enhancement experts on here who could maybe enhance it to see if he is using his phone. They can do it on spooks!

FFFF, funny you should mention that. When I get a chance I will be posting another video when I get a chance. It has a running title of

How many cyclists can you see here....

I need to make it a little more catchy!

What's the light triangular thing in the road, just about where you passed? A gully cover? If it's something raised from the road surface, I'd say he was aiming to straddle it and assumed you'd move over to give him space.

If not, I'd say it's a pretty safe bet that he was dreaming, half asleep, checking the meter, counting his takings, on the radio, on the phone or otherwise doing anything but watching where he was driving.

Accidental, but what a twit.

I'd say deliberate. In my experience on roads like that motorists are fairly defiant about not giving up their road, no matter what the law says.

Are you sure that you didn't do anything to piss him off off camera?

Yes, I rode my bike on his bit of road! Hey Dom, where have you been hiding? Haven't had you criticise me for a while

I'd guess that he took the line that suited him with total disregard for you, assuming he bothered to see you
