Agreed, I don't think that it's the way I'd pick to go end to end, but I can see why it would appeal to some. As always; you pays your money and takes your choice.

Hey thanks for getting on board you lot. Only just got an 'Alert' on this new online version so apologies if you think I'd deserted the thread. Some good opinions and I have to agree with most. It is very expensive, especially for camping but the organisation looks second to none. I've read loads of blogs from the event page and all suggest a fantastic experience and I will read your link @CarlP, thanks.
And @Gary Newton, I'm intrigued at you having already done it and planning another trip next year. I maybe interested. I live close to you near Wakefield, if we ever get a break in this relentless rain we could meet up and have a ride out and coffee
