I have a cycling pair of jeans - stretch denim and narrow around the ankles. They don't show oil etc and aren't precious. In wintertime I have been known to cycle 20-30 miles in them. I can fit a base layer underneath (just

), though I stopped wearing that about a week or two ago.
I also own other jeans (Fat Face ones seem to fit best) - but generally I like them and don't want to get them mucky and wear out the back side too quickly.
Come springtime the wardrobe expands and its time to bring out shorts, 3/4 trousers, a whole variety of clothes - I far prefer the summer time.
