Dent in seatstay

I've just noticed a dent in my rear right seatstay I wondering if it will be ok to ride or is it dangerous did a 65 miler on it yesterday but I don't want to take the gamble if its dangerous.

When/how did you get that ?

TBH you should be fine leaving it be.

It's a strange place (inside of frame triangle) to pick up a dent, so keep an eye on it (frame failure).

I'd say it's probably fine for now, keep an eye on the paintwork to see if there is any fracturing going on. Long term you probably want to get the seatstay replaced. A competent framebuilder will be able to do this for you no problem, although you will need to budget for repainting as well.

Coincidentally I've been looking at getting a steel frame repaired recently as I've got a Pug I need fixing, it will likely cost in the region of £150 to replace the stay, although you'll need to speak to the workshop. Budget a little more for shipping and repainting to be safe.

I contacted the guy I bought off the internet he said he had two of these bikes and they had the link in the seatstay in the same place he then sent me the link.

Possibly utterly stupid idea but could it be to give clearance for a brake disk or something like that?
