I have been told by several suppliers that UK stocks wont be back in until the 22nd.
 I've been in the same boat here, in fact I dare not risk it - plenty of ice at 6am the past week so have had 2 weeks off. Cant even get CX tyres.. I suppose because the CX season has fully swung into action.

I bought studded tyres from the Clas Ohlson store in Cardiff.
They are not on the website but are listed in their catalogue but I'm not sure if you can order from that

Dotbike showing stock due 22/12/10 but will be backorders as well, probably worth ringing before placing to make sure:-

I've got to be honest I'm surprised at how poorly they've been stocked this year after last. Though I suppose we've all had all year to buy them as well.

Been making my way around down south with zipties around the tyre. Works surprisingly well, provided you have disk brakes, enough clearance, and the ties are sturdy enough. Works best on the softer wannabe slushy stuff though.

I thought about doing that but the roads by me have been fine for the past few weeks.

Ah I never quite got round to manning up and trying that! How do they 'feel'?

Well, 'feel' is probably a bit of an exaggeration.

They do seem to work though. I found lacing from alternate sides with one tie every 4 spokes or so worked best. There is definitely a sweet spot between having them centred to the tyre (in which case they tend to snap off) and angled too far to the side (in which case they don't really assist).

I settled for about 5 mm left, 5mm right in the end, and they lasted for the 3 days of nasties we had.

Still hoping it's not going to drop temp too much this week - got a few 'site visits' - 4 out of 5 days, and I really don't fancy 30 miles on 30 PSI studded tyres on a MTB...no ta. So far been OK on the fixed
