English, not some fancy foreign concoction: good.
Sharp, boozy, calorific; adult, in a word: good.
Light, summery: hmmm. It's February, for heaven's sake.

At this time of the year, I'd go for rice pudding made with spices and raisins, or apple and ginger crumble, or (in honour of shrove Tuesday) pancakes.

Meringue nests, whipped cream, topped with de-frosted summer fruits.

Takes 5 mins and tastes - and not too ££

Tastes even better if you use crème fraîche instead of whipped cream

Well done, Rich. A 'cafeterri' surely. Do you buy your coffee ready ground or are you one of life's has beans? Emergency courgette? lurking in the background along with bicycle accesory:
"Is dinner nearly ready, love?" 'It'll bidon in a minute, precious.'
Oh, there's a pudding in the front as well - excellent! I hope the consumers were not seasonally disorientated.
