You made the shortlist Dave but we had tiramisu recently!
We're sharing the load with 2 other couples, where the host does the main, and the other 2 bagged the starter. Booze is shared.
Have a good time down the boozer!

Cheers Rich, I'm just cooking a gourmet tea of steak pie, chips and mushy peas to soak up the ale.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Right, all done. Gary's syllabub won the day. I'm transporting them to another house so not using their oven was a good idea I decided. Pics to follow!
English, not some fancy foreign concoction: good.
Sharp, boozy, calorific; adult, in a word: good.
Light, summery: hmmm. It's February, for heaven's sake.

At this time of the year, I'd go for rice pudding made with spices and raisins, or apple and ginger crumble, or (in honour of shrove Tuesday) pancakes.

Well done, Rich. A 'cafeterri' surely. Do you buy your coffee ready ground or are you one of life's has beans? Emergency courgette? lurking in the background along with bicycle accesory:
"Is dinner nearly ready, love?" 'It'll bidon in a minute, precious.'
Oh, there's a pudding in the front as well - excellent! I hope the consumers were not seasonally disorientated.
