There was a phone-in today on radio five live about trying to make cycling safer, did anyone else hear it and what did they make of it? Just out of curiosity.
I heard it, shame about the break for the fire alarm. Unfortunately it descended into the usual RLJs, riding on pavements and road tax arguments rather quickly. Was amazed at the chap that was ranting and raving about overtaking cyclists that were doing about 30mph that then had the audacity to keep going as he tried to left hook them! He then claimed to be a cyclist himself
I guess I may be biased but I do think that overall the cyclists came across as the more reasonable bunch.
I've spoken on several radio shows about cycling, and from my experience it is well worth only going onto and listening too a show with a reasonable presenter. Otherwise it just descends into the usual crap throwing of rljing etc...
i like the idea in spain of reverse burden of proof and if this was implemented in the uk do you think motorists would be more wary of cyclists?
I think this would make a massive improvement to cycling in the uk as drivers would no longer be in a position to ignore cyclists and have to worry about there insurance premiums more if they did cause an accident with a cyclist.
