I didn't say that at all. I just said that most cyclists do look down regularly. If you haven't seen this amongst other cyclists, then you've perhaps not been very observant.

I'm sure you're always pleasant in real life, but on here I think you have a long track record of making argumentative and destructively critical posts without taking time to be pleasant to other posters.
You also said you had proof to this most cyclists always look down? Well when Im looking at a cyclist they are not looking down, how else would you be observant than looking bent? could you enlighten us on this, as well as showing the proof you said you had?
My track record is of not backing down to some who try to ridicule and upset with twists and inuendo in what they write, and have digs at you when you dissagree, a bit like your trying here bent, you naughty boy you^_^

Blimey Col, have you got out the wrong side of bed. All BM said was that cyclists look down...not all the time...they just do. They also look up, left and right and occasional get caught looking at girls under bridges on the waterloo bridge road...ahem.

I've noticed in my vids that i look down a fair bit, mostly (in answer to the question) I'm clocking that I am riding at the speed that I am trying to hit. I also look down to shoulder check sometimes, kinda a down and round (especially if I am banking the bike to the left or right.)

Please don't ask me to produce documented evidence of this, I've probably deleted it already as its far too dull.

I wont JJ, ^_^ But bent said he has proof so I just asked for it, and he avoids producing it, and does his usual of asking me questions like have I been pleasant ect, I wonder why? So he was either just being argumentative, made a mistake, or lied. Either way Id love to see this proof he says he has.

Jaysus Col, do you have to be such a wind-up merchant? That sort of behaviour is really not necessary.
What behaviour, asking you for what you claim to have? There you go again, trying to make it sound different as usual. So are you going to share this proof you have ?

The fact that people look down when cycling is such an obvious one that I'm not going to bother with proving it. If you want to disagree, then you prove that most people don't look down.

I can stand witness that many cyclists look down a lot. Whenever I see a group of cyclists, some are looking down. There you are col - evidence in the form of a witness statement. Time to move on I think.
I would just like to see this proof bent says he has, whats wrong with that?

Owow, this thread has got a little out of hand and I've only been AFForum for a day.

The reason I look down is to check the road surface for bad bits and to check my speed, as I'm sure most others do, so </discussion> on that front

Excusing the questionable RLJ (which it wasn't, I was far enough back to clip in and roll over the ASL on amber... which is still naughty, but that's not the issue I have). Tomorrow I'll put my 0.45x converter on and post it if you need proof of this.

The shout, as I said wasn't meant as a "get out of my way", but more a "this light's turning green and traffic's moving, so heads up", the point of the topic is would this be misconstrued?
