Nothing wrong with that, sounds like a normal days commuting to me...
The only trouble with the TRANSCO road works is that they narrow the road so much that you can't get passed the cars that are blocking the way (I don't cycle on the pavements). Normally where is a bus lane I take great delight in zipping passed the stationary cars...
