School was great, but then I did not attend a comprehensive. Great teachers, who are still remembered and revered today. They took a great interst in our development and future prospects. My secondary school launched me on a career to a level far higher than I could ever have otherwise expected.

Four years after I left, the school suffered the excesses of the comprehensive system. As a result it was FUBARed. I'll never forgive the socialists for that.

For the most part I loved school, apart from the trauma of occcasional threat of getting my head kicked in, and of my fear of maths.

My sixth form days were brilliant though, had a top bunch of people in my year (many of whom I'm still in touch with) so we had a hoot.

I even got some decent A levels, even though it was a comprehensive.

They say that your school days are the happiest, mine wasn’t we were ruled with the plimsoll, ruler and cane we were frightened of all our teachers, I kid you not, my schooling started in 1956 to 1968 and I hated every second of it both schools primary and secondary were Catholic, the primary school was run by Nuns they are not the sweet little people you think they are they could turn a hardened boy in to a scared one broken and batted, I’ve seen kids that had been sent to "Madam" coming back crying like a baby with sore bottom and hands to me I was glad to leave school

My dad and his siblings went to a convent school in Hoxton. The eldest girl refused to accept a thrashing from the chief nun, threatening to floor her if she laid a finger on her. The local priest then got involved and ended up slapping my aunt who promptly chinned him. Grandpa was summoned, he offered to add to the priests bruises. The rebel streak has filtered down the generations, you can be assured.

Started young, and still going.
My primary school days were great, we had 6 classes only and the teachers, who were mainly old were friendly and good at there job. My secondry school was an all boys, secondry modern and i really enjoyed it. It was a good sports school with 4 rugby, 4 football pitches, 3 tennis courts, a swimming pool which was freezing most of the year and a hugh sports area with a spinney in the middle that had Adders and grass snakes in. The other facilities were good as well. Science labs, metal and woodwork classes, it was an all round good school. The name was Ashmole.

I loved primary school, the first two years of comp. Then it went downhill for two years. Picked up in the last year for my O-levels. Was glad to leave and go to college for my A-levels though. That was a fantastic time though!

Infant, first and Middle learnt very little. Didn't dislike it. Had a lot of bullying in the Middle School.
Secondary School was all right but I resented the long journey to what was a vastly over rated bog standard comprehensive just for four years of endless bullying which just stopped after that. Secondary school was full of people you'd rather not meet again.
College was the best time of my life. Self motivated, real people from varying backgrounds with an ethos in common. Teachers that had poorer contracts than their sixth form and school equivalents that pulled out all the stops and were really glad you were there without being patronising.
University was just school for big people and was very disappointing.

I hated/hate school. Bit bored in the lessons, full of chavs, teachers are abit boring/dont care that much.
In the normal years the people in my year annoyed me more, now in 6th form it isnt bad, the other people in 6th form arent bad, just a few arses.
