Didcot towers demolition this Sunday

It's a puzzle ...
It's a bit far from here, but it would be interesting to watch from nearby-ish!

I like the animation on that site.

I can see it from my upstairs window.

Took this photo on the 2/7 looks like blokes getting ready for a big bang.

ah - have they not told you it's going to happen if you are so close?

To clarify - I am not organising a ride to this - just posted details for folk in vague area who might like to watch it.

Have cycled very close to them in the past on a few rides Oxford to London.

I can see them but I’m four miles away, I regularly ride past them though. Your post is the first I heard about them coming down on Sunday though, which is odd cos I know a bloke that works there and he never mentioned it when I saw him on Sunday.

If that's the view from your upstairs window, i'd do a runner before Sunday
Silly. That was on my ride that day.
Three Rides.

Yesterday: A ride out on the Trek Madone to meet the Fragrant MrsP for breakfast again in Wallingford, just a smidge over 17 miles.

Later we went to the farm shop down the road where there was a fete, for a burger and a hotdog.

2 miles I took the Kingpin this time.

Today: I rode the Whyte Coniston hybrid to Abingdon for some items of utility, I went along the road, the direct route where no less than three twats in cars failed in their mission to wipe me out. The return journey I came a long the mostly quiet cycle route 5 via Sutton Courtney, the Cooling Towers and Didcot. Just over 20 miles.

This is a little peaceful oasis in the middle of a very unattractive trading estate.

Not sure if this a church, but it’s an interesting looking building.

There’s two blokes on a cherry picker (black circle) looked like they are drilling holes for explosives.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
The final destruction of an icon of my childhood.

One of the nice things about living in Buckinghamshire (and there are many) has been being able to go to a hill above Wendover, only 10 miles away, and see both Didcot and the radio mast at Beckley. Mrs W, on the other hand, is delighted to see Didcot power station disappear!
