Did the Verenti Rutland sportive = 75 miles in sideways rain and howling wind.

I would have logged a faster time in a canoe. Never stopped raining all the way round.

Still, better than being dragged round the shops.

My disappointing morning turned into a prolific afternoon. I fitted my Pearson with a new stronglight mygal chainset, with 165 cranks and a 46 tooth ring, the old one was 44 tooth and 170 cranks. New BB, chain, 18 tooth cog, the old cog was 17, gives me a 68 inch gear instead of 69. New front tyre, the old front went on the back and new back brake blocks, ready for the snow and ice, plus a good clean. Very satisfying and gets the work out of the way. The only thing I haven't done is adjust the saddle, I'll do that if needed after I've ridden the bike.

Is that your wedding photo on the windowsill? Don't forget to put some care and attention time in there too!

I've been putting plenty of TLC there for the last 27 years

Good stuff... (sorry, was only meant in jest, btw)

I know . The bike feels superb now the work is done, smooth as silk, quiet as a church mouse, all my little niggles and noises gone, rides like new. I've had to raise the saddle a smidge tonight so should be even better tomorrow.
