The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
I'm new to discs and my Orbea Gain has Tiagra hydraulics. I've finally worked out that the replacement pads are the same as those for 105 - Shimano Road BR-RS505/805. I also understand that 'resin' pads are specced ('resin only' inscribed on the rotors). Discobrakes for example doesn't list resin.
Are the 'semi metallic' pads listed the same as 'resin'?

No.

This is a bit overly simplistic, but should help...

All a bit different, but be aware of switching types, you'll need to give the discs a clean, then bed in the new pad. I'm running Uber Bike's pads in both MTB's. Standard pads in the Wife's and Race Matrix in mine as they perform very well !
