One of my favourite words is:- steatopygous. A word which must be used judiciously, or you risk, in some situations, certain death.
I first came across it in one of Louis de Berniere's books - not Captain Corelli.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Well I never - a hapax legomenon.

Like coming across
ραφανιδοω
[raphanidoo] in Aristophanes.
"PleaseSir whassimeanSir?"
"Er, you'll just have to go and look it up"
Wikipedia confirms that you'd probably have come across ῥαφανιδωθῇ - an imperative rather than an active-voiced verb.

The Leveson enquiry has shown up a few : inchoate, pellucid, logocentric, bailiwick, condign, propinquity.
Having looked up their meaning, my mind has eschewed remembering their meaning.

Our centre manager invented a great new word today, to mean the logistics of a difficult project:

Complicalities.
