PTFE tape is most commonly used on rad valves where they screw into the rad.

it would actually be a bit more boring than you'd think, 'cos water would only come out when it drains, and not at particularly high pressure. If, say,a dog was involved and it got hold of the spouting pipe end in its mouth and ran round in circles with it thus preventing the hapless amateur plumber doing anything about it that would probably make it slightly more watchable.
