While now try label remover and Fnaar's tool.

By the way, how did you come to leave your tape on for 9 months?Fnaar said:It hasn't seen service in a while

Rigid Raider said:Yep. Buy a scraper with a Stanley blade in it. When you next paint window frames, paint onto the glass to seal around the edges then leave the paint to dry for a few hours before scraping it off with the blade, if you go carefully you can leave a nice even narrow band of paint on the actual glass. Much quicker and more satisfying than messing around with masking tape.

It really is much easier than loads of masking tape and will give you a better seal between the paint and the glass. Anything not removed by the blade comes off with a little white spirit and a J-Cloth.
and FWIW - Dulux trade paint is excellent - thin it down a little and the results are superb. The white paint stays white for years without yellowing.
