Anyone know?

Our cat suggests they may do - going by the constant squeaking during the 30 minute run-up to meal time....

We have that problem with our cat Billa constant meowing until we get up to feed her in the morning. We don't need an alarm clock as she see 6.25am the best time to feed her. Grrrr

6.25am? That's late! Our 'cat-alarm' is set for 6.00am but does have a tendency to go off earlier.... Amazingly, being told it's too early does usually work, and the cat returns at 6 on the dot.

Next thread topic: Can cats tell the time?

Funny thing my cat when she was around used to do the same thing and screech and scratch at the door but somehow, I trained her to sleep and wake at roughly the same time as me though she was a fraction earlier than me some days.

The hunger instinct is well developed in cats from my experience!

I don't know about cats, but my 2 dogs know when its nearly 5pm. they go mad waiting to be fed at dinner time. Same everyday, between 16:50 and 17:00, start pacing up and down.

I was buying a mega quantity of cat food in my local store. The store owner said I must really love my cat. My response was that she makes a most pathetic noise when she is hungery. He looked at his assistant and said so does he, and we have to feed him a pork pie to shut him up.

My cat developed the ability to start yowling outside the bedroom door exactly 60 seconds before the alarm went off, every day. Sadly of course she never understood the concept of weekends

My cat, being a Siamese, yowls whenever he wants something, either to go out, be fed, be picked up, or just be stroked. He also yowls for about 30 secs when anyone visits, without a paws for breath!

The worse yowl comes about 11.30pm, when me marches up and down the living room, stopping at the bottom of the stairs, then marches back again. That's bed time!

I love these cat postings - particularly when you get pictures too. Why is it when cats stretch out they are nearly 6ft long? Well, almost!
