Haven't tried my Spoon yet. Hoping it's comfortable though as it's costly finding a right saddle.

Took me 6 saddles to find the right one.. 5 of them about to go up for sale when I get around to it!

I have 2 old skool ones, with perforations and 2 new style smoothies. Neither style softens-up but I would say the perforated variety are marginally easier on my bottom.

My spoon hasn't softened after 2000 miles or so. Good thing I think as I never suffer from any pain of the undercarriage

Give it a little longer to see if it suits.

I put a spoon on my CX last year and i get mixed results. No issues at all for the 10 mile commute but I do get pain and (very concerning) numbness on long rides (80+ miles). I don't know however if this is the saddle, the bib shorts or the bike fit. I know I often slide forward and have to make an effort to get my sit bones back on the wings of the saddle rather than taking all the weight from the nose on my (ahem) 'no-man's land'. This might be fixed by bringing the saddle forward on the rails 10mm or so? Either way I also know that it's definitely more comfortable that the Boardman factory fits (despite being made in the same factory).
I often think that I'd perhaps benefit from something with a cut out.
Either way, I'll persevere for the moment. It's not enough of an issue at the minute to go through the hassle of all the trials and adjustments.

I've got a Knife (cut down version of Spoon) and I like it very much. On long rides I don't really notice it and my only complaint is that after about 3000 miles the covering material is wearing and going grey. Might try it with some black shoe polish.
