Glad to hear you're planning on keeping the bike - I've seen it around on cyclechat in a few threads and personally always think it looks dead smart! I'd definitely rather be riding that than an identikit modern bike.
Far from sniffing at your bike I'll bet a lot of people are interested to see something slightly different... and if you can keep up with the group on a possibly-slightly-lower-spec bike that can be quite satisfying
Just don't tell them that lower spec doesn't actually seem to make a bike any slower
ps - my wife rides a Saracen (a few years older than yours) and it is a genuinely good bike indeed, nothing wrong with the brand/frames at all, just kitted out with cheaper components.
