do i need to update?

iv got an iphone 4s and iv got a msg from apple asking me if i want to update to ios 5.0.1 software update ,,i thought the 4s was running the latest software from the factory ,,surely i dont need this eh?

You don't have to, but I generally do. The updates are normally bug fixes, or extra features.

update to 5.0.1 updates battery issues some people have (I don't) and also better at understanding Australian.. ;-)

first update that you can do not connected to a PC, it only takes a few minutes - do it!
