That to me is like subjective and objective. I can never remember which one is which.

Nearest the curb is near side. Off side is the same side as the steering wheel.

Port and starboard may only be used when cycling through large puddles. Both legs should be raised to approximately handlebar height. It is preferable to cry 'weeeee' loudly whilst doing so.
At all other times, left and right apply.

I saw a cyclist last night wearing led wrist bands. One was red, the other green.

Why?

The only thing I could think of is that he was using the maritime scheme to signal port and starboard.

He had them arranged correctly, red on the left, green on the right.
