I'm a fan of the scooting method. One of my proudest moments was was teaching a middle aged man to ride that way - it works for any age!

Running along holding the saddle is the WORST way to teach them to steer for balance.

Pedals off, seat low and let them scoot along.

But it works. They don't know you are doing it, and they don't know you are not doing it when they finally disappear into the sunset.

Do it this way ............. no thats wrong do it like this ..........your all wrong it should be done like this.

truth is your all right ...if it works for the person in question then its the right way:thumbsup:

We were on holiday, the house had a beautiful garden with a sloping lawn, my son (aged 5) found a bike in the garage dragged it to the top of the slope and down he went - dragged it back up and did it again, by the end of the first afternoon he was riding like an expert. The only thing I needed to teach him was that a bed of Dahlia's was a substitute for the braking he should be doing.
