Brooks probably want your saddle to be pinched, so that you have to buy another from them.

I'm maybe being a bit too cynical, but I reckon that all bike companies love bike/component theft, because it means you have to buy replacements. Otherwise why not fit all of these little security things to stop people nicking your quick release bits as standard? Or at least the LBS*/Halfords could mention it when you buy your bike, but they don't. They just sit tight until your seat gets nicked and you need to buy another from them.


* Maybe I'm being unfair and your LBS would mention it, but mine aren't helpful at all when it comes to security advice. When I said I wanted to buy two locks of different types the guy looked at me like I'd just told him I soak my sandwiches in the bath before eating them.
