Do you think I can squeeze 32mm tyres in?

The website for my road bike (Avanti corsa er) says max tyres 30mm. I have 28s on at present and there is at least 8mm clearance all around front and rear. Do you think that's enough for some slick 32mm?

The rim has a internal diameter of 18mm and current 28s measure up at 28mm exactly.

Was hoping to use something like a Vittoria Randonneur Pro which come in a 32mm smallest size.

True. I think a 32 would fit but a bit of tyre bulge once weighted would rub.

30mm would be ideal but there seems very little choice in that size.

But the "bulge once weighted" will be at the bottom, well away from the frame.

Very true. I did a bit of googling on the Randonneur pros and apparently they come up quite narrow so am going to risk it see how I get on.

Why do you want 32s ?
Mainly to be able cope with some rough stuff. A lot of the more touring style tyres start at 32mm.

Got the Randonneur pros in 32 mm and sure enough on a rim with an internal 18mm they come up at 28.5mm (good for me but would have been disappointed if I'd wanted an actual 32mm tyre).
