Hats have rather gone out of fashion. I think that's a shame. But, then, I don't have much by way of hair, so I would say that.

What counts as a hat? Does it have to have a brim? Do wooly hats, baseball caps and flat caps count. Brimmed hats do seem slightly more fashionable these days.

I wear a wooly hat if it's cold and I'm walking on the bike it's always a helmet

Wooly hat all the time at work. I also - very occasionally - wear a waxed cotton trilby in the rain. But I think a hat is a thing you wear with your whole being, rather than just on your head ... you can't wear, say, a straw boater with jeans and a T shirt, you need the striped blazer and flannels too.

Doesn't stop Pete Doherty ... I believe the technical term for such a hat is a "twhat".

I've been thinking of one for a while now. The old bonce feels the cold as one ages and they do look rather smart.

I think a trilby might suit.
