I like all the doctors and all the series. I find its a good escape from reality. I especially like the last three Dr who. But in general love to escape this world as often as I can

Nor a second. Romana was also a Time Lord (or should that be Time Lady, as she was latterly played by The Honourable Lalla Ward, now aka Mrs Richard Dawkins)

ah but we'd assume she'd always been a Time Lady in her previous (pre Doctor) incarnations as well as her two Time Lady incarnations we know.
Missy was quite a twist - I'd had her down as an incarnation of the Rani.

You also have to remember that Time Lord (Lady), erm, Time People. Are a species in the Dr Who universe. So unless they are capable of asexual reproduction, they must have females of that species

I haven't watch DW since part way into David Tennant, so I'm a bit out of touch.
Of course, transgendered Doctor would be very zeitgeisty. And it would allow a tabloid to have the headline. "WHO'S THAT GIRL"

I love Peter Capaldi too!Oh I LOVE Peter Capaldi. (I mean this might just be because I love Peter Capaldi).
And can I say that Michelle Gomez is just the best thing on TV ever (she was the best thing in Green Wing too). I would love a spin off series with Missy.
I like the doctor as a slightly unhinged codger. So I guess the natural choice for me as a successor would be Ken Stott. Mind you, if I wrote Doctor Who, it would probably be a lot like an episode of Messiah... so probably best I don't!
Though I'm all of a dither now as fancying Doctor Who is all kinds of wrong!

Clara gets on my wick. She's even more irritating than Ace was with the Sylvester McCoy Doctor. He had terrible scripts too.
Not sure about who should be the next Doctor. Maybe Russell Tovey? But I'd like to see whatsherface Osgood as the companion, I think that she's brilliant.

Clara's great you rotten lot. A fine actress, drives much of the action, doesn't flap or scream. i particularly like the way each recent companian have brought something very different tot the role, each fine in their way.

I thought that I was going to hate Donna Noble (Catherine Tate) as a companion, but found her actually rather marvellous. That conversation with the Doctor through opposite windows, in the Adipose episode, still makes me laugh.

Russell Tovey would be my choice.
As for Capaldi, not my favourite but better than Matt Smith who really annoyed me by the end, not helped by some dire scripts.
Finding this series much better, as the last one was Dr Who's lowest point for me. A continuation in that vain would have been the end of watching it for me
