OK, my guess: River Song is the Doctor.

Can't watch tonight and out early doors tomorrow so it will be Sunday evening before I can watch.

The excitement is killing me.

Nice! Of all the options, I didn't guess that one.

Yeah, we were all thinking about... no, don't want to put up a spoiler for anyone who hasn't seen it, but none of us got that.

I think when the name was revealed the answer was somewhat obvious. I think the only thing that frustrated me slightly was that it jumped right in - sure, Moffat skipped the boring bit of how they got there and why Rory is The Centurion again, but a little more backstory would have been nice. Where the heck did Strax come from?

Twas good, don't get me wrong, but I had a hell of a time keeping up.

My niece works on Dr Who and I'm very proud of her, but I keep falling asleep when watching it (wrong time – just got in from work and had my tea) so I haven't got a clue what's been going on in this whole series, though I managed to wake up for Suranne Jones playing the Tardis in a bustle). Quite like this new Doctor though.

Like others, as soon as I heard the name 'Melody' it clicked!

I'm really enjoying this series after having been hugely disappointed by the first Grand Moff one. Prior to that, I really wasn't enjoying much of the RTD series' because he really couldn't do decent endings; he'd take 8/10ths of the episode building something up and then you'd get a really quick, feeble solution and ending. It was almost as if he didn't know how any story was going to end so he'd tack on the first thing that came to mind.

My daughter (just turned 11) has loved every series since she got into it when she was around 5.

Love Moffat's writing, although my daughter finds his episodes far more scary than RTD's ever were...still, they were kinda scary when I was little too, so no harm done (even though I am sure she misses out a lot on the more complex plots.)

When Christopher Ecclestone was interviewed as the series was relaunched, he was asked what they were trying to achieve....

The reply was "to put children behind the sofa where they belong!"

good answer... some people complain that it's maybe too scary for their kids... FFS... scary is only fun when you're a kid.

Regarding the first series with Moffat as the main writer... I thought it was bloody brilliant... but the final episode was total cop out... Oh! he's jumping back and forth through time and having an easy job of it.
