john pertwee was the best doctor followed by tom baker , imho, i suppose your favourite is gonna be who ever was in it at the time you started watching it really.

That's so true. I have a much greater appreciation of all of the first seven now though.

Thing is, I'll watch ANYTHING with Peter Capaldi in it. I think he's been brililant in this last series - Mr G has watched all the new Doctors and I've gradually fallen asleep through all of them, or fled through sheer irritation and to get away from the music, but Capaldi keeps me absolutely riveted. He is a truly great actor and master of comic timing to boot. The scripts have been variable - I find they have great moments but long quarters of an hour, and the music is still almost as annoying. Missy was rather brilliant too.

When I was a kid, Tom Baker was my favourite but he got a bit silly towards the end which annoyed me. I loved Jon Pertwee too and wanted to be Sarah Jane.

I even dreamt about Peter Capaldi the other night. Chuffing heck...

Peter Capaldi has been brilliant. Unfortunately the scripts haven't. Peter's so right for the part and I'd love to see him in some old style stories. That'll never happen though.

I haven't been impressed with Doctor Who since it came back. I find it stupid and childish.

it is a kid's show... it's aimed them, not you.

i reckon this series has been better than the last two, but it's grand opening was sh!te, as was it's big finish. I've learned not to expect every episode to be good, a decent 3-5 episode a series is as good as it gets these days... and there were plenty of terrible stories in the original too.

Not watched much telly since apart from morning TV after a 12 hour nightshift and certain favourites when they're on. (set the BT box so I can watch em when I want.)

The Green Death scared the life out of me, as did The Pyramids of (possibly from) Mars. I gave up half way through last night's episode as it was dull dull dull. I've watched the rest of the series as I love Peter Capaldi but what is it with the scripts. Full of school kids going in the Tardis, taking selfies and uploading to facebook etc. I can't see that Tom Baker would have put up with a lot of that (had mobiles and facebook been invented).

I thought that this series was going to be so much better than the others. Better actor (not the others were overly shoddy), sensible sort of age, comic timing etc. I can't be doing with clara though, she really gets on my nerves. Hubster has infomed me that she didn't cark it last night. Shame. I suppose she is better than that Ace character from the McCoy era.

Hubster taped the back end of last night's episode and I might watch it if I run out of paint to watch while it dries.

not true for me. I am sure I saw some of the Hartnell episodes, but I don't really remember them but I do remember the subsequent ones. Tom Baker is my favourite.

I started to lose interest with Peter Davidson, but it was when Sylvester McCoy set a fatal man trap (ran electricity into a puddle) that I decided to stop watching. I know the different doctors are meant to have different personalities, but the ethics should be the same.

Saw most of the Ecclestone, some Tennant and none since then. Very content.

I've enjoyed the new modern ones, though I always take a while to adjust to a new doctor. I hated the last two of this series, don't know why, though I didn't like the character Missy, though I admit the performance was brilliant.

I thought the "Sylvia Anderson" remark was rather subtle! A real nod to us old fogies, none of the kidz would have got the reference.

I'm so pleased that the Doc has gone back to being older. I remember when Blue Peter presenters were old enough to be your mum or dad, it was so much better than all those me-me-me twenty-year-olds they started getting in the 80s. (In fact, John Noakes' son Mark was in my class at primary school!) I wish there were more real older people on kid's telly, I hear that the makers of Dr Who are quite surprised at how quickly children have "taken" to PC, as though they can somehow only relate to people near their own age. I remember as a child finding teenagers incredibly intimidating if you didn't know them, and rather indefinite as individuals - grown-ups were so much more interesting.
