Is anyone else making the most of those non-raining moments at whatever o'clock it happens to be?
Not for cycling, I do that for gardening, light permitting of course.
Rain or no rain, I still need to be at my work for a certain time.
Getting up at 5am?

No, my preference would be getting up at 7 even if it does mean getting drenched :cold:
My preference would be getting up at 8, sadly I need to be up every day at 5.30am
with a strong, cold, easterly wind blowing day and night for weeks on end. You have to have a certain mentality to cycle here,
Well, here it hasn't really been for weeks on end, maybe the last 2 weeks?
Today it wasn't windy.
I was off during the week, on Thursday I rode (even though I do get a free bus pass  )to visit a friend, nothing major, just a round trip of less than 10 miles.
I got home pure frozen: the wind was ice!
Yes, one needs to have a stubborn mentality to cycle here
It seems that November right through to March in the UK is a constant weather watch for cyclists,
I only look at the weather app for icy temperatures, so I know to prep the ice bike for the commute.
The apps are not always correct, hence you can find me at 6am in the dark checking the status of the cat's outdoor water bowl

Here in Brora its hard to find a weather window for a walk let alone a ride  yesterday i walked along the shore but couldnt look out to sea for long as the fierce onshore easterly made your eyeballs feel like they were freezing in their sockets! When the snow vacates the stage on comes the wind and rain....and the snow will be waiting in the wings for an encore...Roll on the spring! :okay:

I asked Gemini how many dry days there had been in Exeter this year.

No wonder everyone's moaning (including me!)
Must be the first time ever Devon has been drier than Dorset!

Since 1st Jan I have done 6 outdoor rides and 18 indoor rides! The main issue now is that the rain is so heavy and drains so full of crud that roads are just constantly waterlogged or flooded. I used to ride in the rain but now it is a safety issue a lot of the time.

I have ridden four times outside since the new year. The minor roads are awash even when it’s not raining so it really unpleasant and the thought of getting a puncture or mechanical just puts me off.

I've never had to ride thru a puddle on the Watt Bike, just saying...
I did get soaked playing hockey today though...
