Hello I was wondering if anyone would be able to shed some light on the backstory of this type and possibly be able to help estimate what it's worth?

Hi and :welcome: to the site @Mach5

I'm afraid that I can't enlighten you as to who made the bike but from the photos, everything that I see says that it is a cheap basic bike of the sort usually sold by supermarkets or catalogue stores. Value: not very much secondhand, maybe £20 to £50.

It seems to have the eyelets for mudguards and a rack so could be useful as a runabout/winter bike.

It’s interesting but not worth much. Low grade components, non-descript frame. Having said that I’ve never seen another!
Just enjoy it :-)

As above + according to Google Images this appears to be the polka dot King of the Moutains version. A slightly better spec Yellow Jersey version was available, from Walmart amongst other sources. Was there a Green Jersey version?

The front brake is operated by the left lever. Are you in the USA? The wall sockets look American. The rear axle is nutted, not quick-release.

I don't know about where you are, but in England that'd be worth less than the bus fare to go view it.

As said above, it looks a lot like a big box store bike, such as Walmart or something. Probably made by Pacific Cycles.

It's not a particularly exciting bike in terms of specification, but it'll be good as a workhorse, and potentially with a bit of luck and some judicious use of ebay, could be upgrade to be a solid commuter bike. It's probably worth anything up to about £100/$100 as it looks near enough new.

It could also be a good occasional summer bike, if it's not going to get a huge amount of use.
