Depends if you are sociable and confident. if you are, just book a hotel somewhere and you'll soon get chatting to the person next to you on the sunbed. Or in the bar. Most bigger places have bus tours you can book (from reception, or at least they can help you), which is another good way to meet people. If you choose a popular hotspot for UK tourists, you'll be spoilt for chatter.

Dedicated trips for singles will probably be more expensive, and I wouldn't go on one myself purely because I would feel pressured to engage with everyone as "this is the holiday I chose". If you just book a Hotel somewhere, you can do your own thing and join in with other things as and when you want.

Edited to add: I worked with a lady in her late 60s who went on singles holidays (Benidorm and the like), which at the time were geared towards drinking and sunbathing. Pretty much like club18-30 but at a slightly slower pace! She told me that she had packed a box of condoms. Enough said

I've never been on any coach tours or cruises, but my experience of using B&Bs as a single is that if you book in advance they won't take you unless they have a single room, which often turns out to be a broom cupboard crammed into the attic space somewhere. On the other hand, if you knock on doors at 5pm, they don't look a gift horse in the mouth, and you usually get a double room for single price.

Yes but they are possibly the expensive option referenced in the OP?
...on that basis we'd never give any advice or suggestion to anyone on the basis that they had possibly thought of it but not explicitly referred to it in their OP???

Having checked Saga do a load of stuff aimed at single travellers and quite a bit of no single supplement deals, a lot of these are shoulder season in the sun, i.e when hotels aren't at full occupancy. They also do a few "UK uni campus in the summer with the odd excursion thrown in" type holidays. None of which look that expensive tbh
