Does it count as a scalp if the scalpee is wearing trainers?

The other night, last couple of miles, cyclist up ahead halfway up the hill. "Mine" says I to meself, change up a gear and spin up the hill, and catch up - lovely fast pass, cheery "Wotcher" from me, then to my dismay I noticed he was wearing trainers. I feel cheated, dirty somehow, like it wasn't serious and I was only used.

Should I feel like this? Or should I just count another notch on my seatpost?

Well I don't count it if they are wearing high heeled shoes:biggrin:

Thats bad man. Befor you know it you'll be hanging round the park scalping kids on trikes. Not only does that not count but i think you should be docked a legitimate scalp as a penalty.

Come on. It was UPHILL! It's got to count for something...

...I never normally feel like this after a scalp.

It was up hill for the trainer wearer too. You had maximum power transfer from your shoes, the other cyclist, well, they wore trainers. ;)

I nearly did the same thing, but as I got closer [rapidly] the guy not only was in trainers but was on a mountain bike thingy and was built like a water buffalo, what could I do but hang my head in shame , turn around and slink off to find fairer game

So as someone who commutes in trainers, do I score double when I pass someone cleated in? Is it triple if there is also lycra?

I must admit I love it when I scalp some old lady with a shopping basket on the front. It's rare though.

Don't know why she's wearing look cleats on a shopping trip though.
