My GSD is 18 months old and when he was 7 months we found out that he has has hip and elbow dyplasia. He also has a neuro problem called Wobblers Syndrome. It means his life expectancy will be much shorter than normal due to the compression on his spine.
He already drags his back feet and has damaged his back claws and pads.
We don't walk him outside so he's confined to running about the garden (on medical advice) - he doesn't mind this as he tires very easily.
Anyway, I am looking to get some dog boots to stop him damaging his back feet.
Can anyone recommend any?

Poor bugger. The cheap ones don't last, come off easily and break, so go upmarket a bit, is my only advice. As he's only in the garden, if it comes off and they do, you shouldn't lose it.

You know you can get various braces for a range of ailments http://www.orthodog.com/

Thanks, I've saved that for future reference.
If we can give him some years of contentment then it'll have been worthwhile.
The breeders gave us a full refund and offered to take him back as well...we couldn't part with him as we knew they would have had no use for him.....
He is well loved and happy here.

He is happy and not in pain. He enjoys his life and loves his toys - even falling asleep with them still in his mouth lol

They look OK. The common place they go is where the neoprene attaches to the soul. Mine had one when recovering from a pad op after a deep cut on a shell on the beach. Neither universal one lasted but he was outside on cinder paths. In the end I wrapped him up in one of my Goretex socks with a hiking sock over it.
He will only be on grass really...sometimes he runs up the path but he stays mainly on the grassed areas.
Can always give them a go and see what happens!
