In breaking news, BBC announce that the sniffer dogs at Noel Gallagher International Airport in Manchester have had great success in sniffing out sausages, and also cheese, but have been amiss when it comes to finding drugs. Bafflement ensues.

My dog's got super canine hearing. It can hear the cheese being unwrapped from miles away, no matter how quietly I try to do it.

If you read the article, you'll notice that these aren't dogs trained to sniff out drugs they are specially trained to sniff out animal products such as bushmeat etc. It's not really surprising that they find sausages. And iirc it is actually illegal to take raw meat products across many international borders.
