I nipped out on my Cannondale today to exercise my franchise and get a few groceries.

It was hard work, despite a relatively flat route and calm conditions.

Decided to check the tyre pressures when I returned - only about 20psi in each.

No doubt the ride was good resistance training, but the moral is don't forget the basics.

It takes 2 minutes to check the pressures with a track pump I check mine the night before every ride

Used latex inners when on clinchers quite a lot and I've not had that much pressure loss - inners which seem to do the job are Sup'Air, made in france. Although they are all used now so a bit of Googling will be in order to find a supplier. It like using tubs, check daily and keep pumped up!

There's a metaphor in there somewhere

I give the tyres a squeeze before every ride. Not because I'm such a fine fellow, but because as little as 20psi down and it feels like I'm riding through treacle.
