Don't forget the clocks are messed up again this weekend

Can someone remind me why we go through this upheaval twice a year?

When I was a boy I was lead to believe it was to help the farmers but they now have lights and GPS guided machinery.

Now it seem it's to do with school kids in Scotland. So why don't they just change their school opening times and leave the rest of us alone.

I now have to make the decision either to go on my Sunday ride when it's darker and colder than last week and keep my pockets free for discarded leg warmers etc. or wait an hour and get caught up in the heavier traffic.

I just want a simple life.

Rant over.

I lied, the rant is still on.

The change only has a short term benefit which gets wiped out in 3 weeks by the shorter/longer days.

And on Monday all my work calls with countries who don't use DST or change on a different day will be screwed up.

Don't mind it too much this year, as it means I'm doing an eleven hour shift instead of twelve, so I'll be in bed an hour earlier Sunday. But then it means for the next few weeks I'll be riding home in complete darkness again, and I was quite enjoying the pre-sunrise light.
