20 green lights all in a row on the way home (well not strictly true, but I didn't have to stop or unclip for any of them, some I had to slow down slightly for traffic or to judge the lights right.)
20 traffic lights in just over 2 miles, average of 10 traffic lights per mile, even if only a 1/3 of them are red (which is a good day) then you get slowed down by quite a bit.

In London that can usually only be dreamt about.

Gaz, can you recommend a decent'ish wheel set upgrade for my Carrera TDF please. Not too expensive. Taking into account it's got an 8 speed cassette. Can I just swap the cassette over or need to buy a new one. Thanks

As long as you buy a wheel set that will work with the cassette you have I.e. shimano for shimano etc.. then you will be good. Have a look at the fulcrum racing 7 wheel.

You look a lot faster in the video. That's why I asked. I average about that too. I was worried I was too slow, but not anymore. Thanks mate.
I think the average on this video is 15.4mph. Not my fastest but it's been a hard week with the wind.

Your flashing light would do my head in and no doubt approaching traffic as well. I hate flashing lights. I couldn't ride in London like I used to because of all the flashing lights on bikes. It must be a nightmare.

As for your ride, very restrained. There were so many things you could have ranted over like Blue Van Man who close passed you as you came over Vauxhall Bridge (who gave me a fright!) and the people carrier further on stopped in the cycle box at the lights. MattT would have chased the van down and filmed the driver and also the driver of people carrier showing them the highway code. But on the whole a lesson on how to ride in a city at night. What sti levers and group set have you got? Camera?

Have you got corresponding footage where all the traffic lights are red?
