Didn't Gianetti try and bully doctors who blew the whistle on him via legal action? Sure Armstrong was hounded out of the sport for that kind of behaviour.

Oh I'm in no way happy about the situation, though I don't know what Gianetti's supposed to have done, I didn't follow.

Users of that one are not famous for their great decision-making skills, are they?

Well given it's used as a treatment for ADHD/ADD (though not first choice) I think that's probably pretty true. And if this were a case of ADHD meds that he forgot to notify about (I don't actually think you can get a TUE for them tbh) then his Dr should probably up his dosage....

Isn't it dexedrine that's used as the treatment ? Methamphetamine is a very different beast.

Lefty tighty. Get it righty.
This. I thought pot belge was a bit passe, but perhaps not.

What? You can get a prescription for"pot belge"?
Lisdexamfetamine (dexys, as in Dexys Midnight Runners) is the more common, though methylphenidate is usually the first choice treatment. It might only be the US that licenses methamphetamine for ADHD
Ah. Ok. Not pot belge. My mistake.

As you were.

My understanding of pot belge was that is was a cocktail of stuff, and amphetamines were part of that (various stuff like opiate painkillers also in the mix I think). I'm not an expert, but lisdexamfetamine is the prodrug of amphetamine. I like to think of this as being like the pro version of various bits of software, but actually it just means it's the inactive precursor that becomes amphetamine through some sort of metabolic pathway. Methamphetamine is a substituted amphetamine, which I think means it was pulled off for tactical reasons at half-time or something.

Methamphetamine is the drug that Walter White was synthesing in Breaking Bad. The 'traditional' method is to make it from pseudoephedrine, and was used as a plotline. It's* a nasal decongestant that I think the Scottish Skier got busted for years back.

*Edit - pseudoephedrine, not Methamphetamine (although that would also be a decongestant)

Alain Baxter. That was one of the saddest positives ever. He used the same nasal decongestant he always used, but he bought it in the States, where they chuck heavy drugs in everything, so it wasn't actually the same. Strict liability and all that, but bloody hell. Lost the only Olympic medal ever won by a British skier because of it.
