These pdf guides from Cycling UK are designed for downloading & displaying on smartphones and are aimed at those who might be less familiar with looking after their steed. [Maybe this might be better in the Beginner's forum?]. The topics are:
  • Before you set off
  • Essential tools
  • Repairing a puncture
  • Adjusting your gears and brakes
  • Repairing a broken chain
I wonder what topics might usefully extend this series? Maintaining and changing pedals maybe?

Online access to the Park Tool website has almost anything you can think of with content that is contained in its Blue Book - which at less than about £20 is worth every penny.
The CUK stuff seems to be very limited and ruled by design and brand over useful content.

Just be sure to watch your helpful youtube videos all the way through before starting, otherwise you'll miss handy tips that bizarrely come at the END!!!!! Such as, carefully measure and take note of how much axel protrudes from the hub before removing it, so you know where to put it back after servicing the bearings. Don't ask how I learned that one. :cursing::gun:

Truly excellent book, well worth paying for, will pretty much pay for itself on the first job you do.
