legal/illegal downloads, streaming; we live in an age where the consumer can get the music they want (completely legally) without having to buy a full cd of 2 songs and 8 fillers for £15. what the conceptual difference between copying your mates' cds and records and downloading from a torrent is, i'm not sure. anyone that has done the former and condemns the latter is missing the point.

if i was in ianrauk's shoes, i'm sure i would share his point of view though…

Fran Healy (Travis) said something like, illegal down loads are a good thing it gets your music out there (publicity), . Ive downloaded tracks in the past to see if I like them, if I did then bought the cd; the virus thing always played on my mind though.

dubman,

What you get up to in your own time is your business, but promoting the downloading of copyrighted music, films, and software illegally is not something I want on CC.

Thanks,
Shaun

even when iTunes was restricted, all you had to do was burn a CD of the stuff you wanted using the built in tool, and then you could rip that CD back into what ever format you liked.

Fair point... done that a few times too... Is i-tunes unrestricted now then? Wasn't aware, have been using amazon...

I've done it! £5 0ff Amazon seems like an acceptable compromise to me for a whole CD.
